International Vollmer Technology Days a Complete Success
Raise the curtain for the new QX D400
The transition from a production company to a technology and service company is being completed quickly. With much entrepreneurial engagement, Vollmer is strengthening its core competencies and is serious in its expansion of consulting services as well as the closeness to its customers. Today, the company presents itself as the specialist for tool processing in production and service and is looking for partner-like dialogue with customers, end users and machine makers. This new concept was realised at a top-notch specialty event, the first Vollmer Technology Days for high-tech and future trends in the tooling sector. An exciting mixture of presentations, discussions, exhibits and product information was on offer at the new show grounds in Friedrichshafen. During the three days of the event, 400 guests from 26 countries enjoyed an inspiring, exciting programme.
Well-known experts from research, development, marketing and industry spoke to a full house about the newest technologies and chances as well as trends in the market. Speakers included Dieter Bruchlacher, Hans J g Bullinger, Engelbert Westk per, and Gertrud Hler. Due to the international orientation of the event, all the speeches were simultaneously translated in a number of languages.
The high-tech machine programme could be enjoyed live in the show hall. It included new products and highly productive solutions from the areas of tool production, servicing tools and saws as well as saw mills.
A world premiere was the presentation of the QX, a well-received generation of machines for eroding diamond tools with disc electrodes. This universal machine is the solution for the flexible processing of various PCD tools with a diameter of up to 400 mm and a length of 400 mm. With six simultaneously controlled CNC axes and complete automation, it sets new standards for productivity in service and production. Along with the specialty discussions and presentations, an exciting supporting programme offered the chance to exchange experiences and for interesting talks among guests. The special ambience of Lake Constance could be enjoyed the most by the winner of a Zeppelin flight. uh
